A healthy mentoring relationship provides growth opportunities for both mentor and protégé—with the added bonus of enhancing on-the job performance for the employer. Mentors
Mentors have career and/or professional experience and a willingness to listen and participate in a group discussion. Mentors play facilitator roles by providing guidance, offering feedback, and helping others gain insights to further advance their careers.
Examples of mentors from the past programs include:
- President of a consulting firm
- Vice President, Marketing
- Executive Director, Therapeutic Area Research
- Director, Commercial Product Management
- Patent attorney
Mentees
Mentees have a career and/or professional development goal, or a readiness to work with a mentor to clarify their goal. It is important to keep in mind that this is not a formal networking setting – mentors will not find participants a job, but they will guide and support you along the way as you strive to attain your goals.
Examples of mentees from past programs include:
- Scientist/Research investigator
- Marketing analyst
- Commercial finance manager
- Project associate
- Corporate communications associate
